Portraits and Painting from Life
An Intermediate/Advanced level painting course covering a variety of figurative subjects including portrait painting, still life painting and figurative painting.
Tuition covers all aspects involved with oil painting and individual attention will be given to each student’s particular interest.
Some previous experience of oil painting is necessary.

Course Material
Please bring these materials with you:
Oil paints (artist’s range) 38ml tubes
• Alizon Crimson
• Ultramarine
• Indian Yellow
• Titanium White
Do bring other colours if you have them, these might include yellow ochre, raw umber, venetian red, ivory black.
• Low odour thinners
Please only bring low odour thinners with you or buy them from us. For health & safety reasons we do not allow the use of white spirit or turpentine at Heatherleys.
• Brushes size 3, 5, 8 (flat hog bristle)
• Large tear-off or wooden palette
• Double dippers
• Palette knife Kitchen roll / old rags
OPTIONAL:
• Purified Linseed Oil
• Apron
