Portrait Painting All Levels
This six week course is suitable for both beginners as well as experienced students.
The course will provide you with an understanding of the methods, materials and concepts required to create a portrait in oils.
Basic anatomy, colour mixing, paint application and ways of looking will all be discussed.
The long poses will allow you to develop a sustained engagement with your work and will give you the opportunity to complete 2 painted portraits during the term.
About Allan
Allan Ramsay is a 1st Prize Winner of the Portrait Awards at the National Portrait Gallery, London. He’s also a recipient of The Elizabeth Geenshields Foundation Award, Canada, a prestigious international Award for figurative painting. He is the recipient of The China/UK Art Prize at Art Suzhou, China.
Allan has exhibited regularly at the Royal Academy in London and The Royal Society of Portrait Painters, London.
His portraits are in the collections of the National Portrait Gallery, Edinburgh City Council, Wolfson College (Oxford), St Johns College (Cambridge), University of Cardiff and Exeter University.
