During this course you will study the human head from direct observation. You will be encouraged to express your own personal vision in oil paints via the study of anatomy, gesture and facial expression. A portrait model will be available every day. This course is suitable for students with some experience of oil painting.

– Cadmium Red
– French Ultramarine Blue
– Cadmium Yellow
– Titanium White
– 250ml bottle Low odour thinners / W&N Sansodor *
* Please only bring low odour thinners with you or buy them at Heatherleys. For health and safety reasons we do not permit the use of white spirit or turpentine at Heatherleys.
– Brushes size 3, 5, 8 (flat hog bristle)
– Large tear-off or wooden palette
– Double dippers
– Palette knife
– Kitchen roll / rags
OPTIONAL:
– Purified Linseed Oil
– Apron
