About Antony Williams
Antony Williams just won National Portrait Gallery Award 2024.
He’s had many solo exhibitions, principally in London and Madrid, and his work is held in distinguished collections in this country & overseas.
Antony is well known for working almost exclusively in egg tempera. It can be a painstaking and exacting medium, but one which allows him to express a feeling he has about the look of the world.
All of his work is the product of direct and intense observation. As a result this can produce a heightened sense of realism where every surface detail is given almost equal consideration.
