Description

Figurative Sculpture

This course will introduce you to the techniques needed to sculpt the figure or portrait from a life model.

You’ll work with three models over the course, each model will be in one pose over three or four weeks.

Work with terracotta clay and learn how to use measuring tools. Develop an understanding of proportion and modelling from the figure.

You’ll be introduced to different modelling tools in order to develop your own style. You’ll also learn how to prepare the sculpture for the kiln should you wish to fire the completed work. Firing is done at an additional cost.

All levels of ability are welcome.

‘Excellent tuition, Rob clearly really enjoys teaching. The more traditional measurement techniques were covered at an early stage then classes were flexibly tailored to the individual encouraging the development of your own style. Would highly recommend.’ K.P.
