Description

Carving in Wood and Stone

Explore the eternally beautiful qualities of stone or the fascination which wood can offer for its variety of coloration and grain.

You’ll be guided to produce a sculpture that’s creative and personal by working intuitively with your chosen material.
You’ll also be shown how to take the steps necessary to achieve a more controlled result if desired, such as working with the figure.

We provide beginners with a small piece of stone or wood and the use of school tools.
Instruction is given in the use of appropriate tools and finishing methods.

Beginners and more experienced carvers work and learn alongside each other.
