Portrait Diploma student, Yvonne Langley, has been chosen by John Walton to be his invited artist at the Royal Society of Portrait Painters exhibition this year.
Yvonne says ‘ I am thrilled to have had my portrait of Jean chosen by Heatherley’s Professor Emeritus John Walton, on behalf of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters. It will be shown at the Mall Galleries this year in May.
I started painting nearly five years ago, taking my first classes at Heatherleys after a very very long break from a career in fashion design having left the Royal College of Art at the age of 24.
Painting is now my passion. My aim is to continue taking on more commissioned portraits and to paint other works on leaving my Diploma course in July this year, and hopefully to get my works shown in galleries more often. A big thanks to Heatherley’s for getting me started!’
