Tutor Highlight: Transience an exhibition by Nick Archer
Former Portrait Diploma tutor, Nick Archer, is currently showcasing his most extensive body of work to date in an exhibition that has been a year in the making.
The work draws from diverse sources, including vintage postcards, online media imagery, and his personal photography. Through the process of painting, he unifies these images, evoking the sense of passing time, change and ‘Transience.’
‘When I am choosing an image to work from, the qualities of the photograph – whether it is faded or has blemishes or distortions – are as important to me as the image in the photograph’. – Nick Archer
