The Society’s annual Open Art Exhibition in Chelsea
This firmly established annual event, has had its home at Chelsea Old Town Hall since 1994. Over 800 paintings and sculptures are shown, selected from more than twice that number. The event attracts not only established artists but also younger artists producing fresh and innovative work.
Congratulations to our prize winners, Poppy Field winner of the Heatherleys Award for Sculpture (Under 35 years) for her sculpture ‘Perennial’. Also to Maria Kaleta, winner of the Heatherleys Award for Drawing for her pastel drawing ‘City of London Metamorphosis’.
Congratulations to our Printmakers at Heatherleys, students of our Thursday, Friday and Holiday printmaking courses, whose work was selected for the Chelsea Art Society exhibition. An extra well done to Heatherleys student Jeannie Taylor. She won the Julian Barrow ‘Spirit of Adventure’ Award for her hand printed 5 colour woodcut ‘Mother Sally Dances Rukatuk’.
The exhibition runs Thursday 16 June – Monday 20 June
