Description

Beyond the Image – Abstract Composition

MORNINGS ONLY 10.00am –  12.30pm

Do you ever wonder whether your piece of work is finished or whether you leave it as it is? Is there such thing as overworking something? What is effective and what is disastrous?

This abstract painting and drawing course focuses on the principles of composition at the heart of successful image making.

We’ll explore frequently occurring questions that can hinder development. You’ll learn to see in a different way was you explore, through practical work, the use of various themes as they are applied to your particular way of working.

The practice we follow involves investigative drawing in the widest sense, including the use of different media; paint, collage, photography, print from primary and secondary sources.

You’re encouraged to bring your own projects for further development, and to apply the themes presented throughout each term.

Reviews, discussions and short lectures will enhance the awareness of your work and working method.

This class is suitable for Advanced and Intermediate students.
