Drawing from Paintings at The National Gallery
A term of drawing from paintings at the National Gallery with Laura Smith NEAC.
Explore the National Gallery and sketch from master artworks, from Monet to Artemisia Gentileschi and Rachel Ruysch to Rubens. Draw and discuss with an experienced tutor and a friendly group of fellow students. We will meet each week inside the Portico Entrance.
All levels and abilities welcome.

Course Programme
You will need to book your own free tickets here.
We meet at 10am inside the Portico entrance. After a quick walk through the chosen rooms that week, each person then splits off to draw whatever takes their fancy.
The group meets at 11.45 to show each other their drawings and share experiences.
The second half of the morning is spent as a group walking around the gallery, having a look at the paintings chosen that morning.
Materials List
Please bring a sketchbook and drawing materials (please no wet or dusty materials).

Laura Smith
Laura completed her BA in 2003 and graduated with a MFA from The Slade School of Fine Art in 2012, winning the Clare Winsten Memorial Award. She was shortlisted for the Threadneedle Prize in 2011 and 2016.
